Real Jobs. Real Equipment. Real Results

Careers in Directional Drilling & Underground Utility Construction

Crigger Power hires hard workers who take pride in doing the job right. We’re not about boardrooms or buzzwords—we’re a boots-on-ground crew handling drilling, boring, and underground utility jobs across the U.S. Our owner is in the field. Our teams move fast. And we back each other up.

We take on challenging projects that other contractors walk away from. That means we need workers who can adjust on the fly, stay sharp, and put the work first. If you know how to handle equipment, follow a plan, and show up ready, there’s a spot for you here. We offer honest pay, steady work, and real opportunity in a growing field.

Directional Drlling & Boring Jobs FAQs

Having experience in directional drilling or underground utilities is helpful, but it’s not required for every role. If you’ve worked in construction, operated machinery, or been on utility crews before, those skills will transfer well. We value a strong work ethic over a long resume. Our team is willing to train the right people who show up on time, pay attention, and take the work seriously.

We’ve had employees start with no drilling background who now run equipment on major jobs. If you’re dependable, quick to learn, and ready to work in tough conditions, we’re ready to give you a shot. Every job we do is different, so flexibility and attitude matter more than a perfect resume.

We don’t run a nine-to-five operation. Our jobs often start early and go until the work is done. That can mean long days, occasional weekends, and tight turnaround times. You’ll need to be flexible—sometimes jobs are local, sometimes they’re out of town. We give notice when travel is required and try to rotate crews when possible.

This kind of work isn’t for clock-watchers. If you want steady hours without surprises, this might not be the right fit. But if you want to stay busy, learn new skills, and be part of a crew that gets real work done, there’s plenty of opportunity here.

Yes, we hire from out of state and are open to experienced travel crews. Crigger Power is a nationwide contractor, so we go where the work is. If you’ve got experience in directional drilling, boring, or underground utility construction—and a crew that works well together—we’re interested.

We also bring on individual laborers, operators, and drivers who are willing to travel. We’ll lay out the schedule, travel expectations, and pay structure before the job starts so there are no surprises. If you’re mobile and looking for steady work, we’re ready to talk.

It depends on the role. If you’re applying to operate a drill rig, haul trailers, or move heavy equipment, a valid CDL or operator certification is required. For general labor positions, those aren’t mandatory, but they can bump you up in pay and job responsibility.

If you’ve got a CDL, NCCER card, OSHA certs, or anything else tied to heavy equipment or safety, let us know when you apply. We always look for ways to move people into bigger roles if they’ve got the right paperwork and mindset.

If you’re coming in for an interview, bring your ID and any certifications you hold—CDL, safety cards, operator credentials, etc. Dress for the kind of work we do: boots, jeans, and workwear. We don’t care about suits—we care if you can work.

If you’re reporting to a job site, show up with gloves, weather gear, and basic PPE. We’ll supply the major safety equipment and tools, but we expect our crews to take the work seriously and come prepared. Being ready from day one shows you respect the job and the people you’re working alongside.
